After using a UV lamp for disinfection, it is generally recommended to wait 30 minutes to 1 hour before entering the room to ensure safety. The specific time can be adjusted according to the power of the UV lamp, the size of the room, the ventilation conditions and other factors.

Cause analysis

1. Ultraviolet residue: After the UV lamp is turned off, there may still be a certain intensity of ultraviolet light remaining in the environment, and its energy will not disappear instantly. Although UV itself stops producing when the lamp is turned off, it is important to ensure that the residual energy dissipates to a safe level.
2. Ozone generation: When ultraviolet rays irradiate the air, it will decompose oxygen to produce ozone. High ozone concentrations can irritate the respiratory tract, causing discomfort such as coughing, sore throat, chest tightness, and even affecting the nervous system. Usually within 30 minutes to 1 hour, ozone can decompose naturally and the concentration will drop to a safe level.
3. Microbial sedimentation: When the UV lamp is just turned off, there may be microbial components in the indoor air that are activated by ultraviolet rays but have not yet settled, and a little waiting can ensure a safer environment.

Factors that affect the waiting time

1. UV lamp power: High-power UV lamps produce more ozone and need to wait longer.
2. Room size: The ventilation effect of the room with larger space is better, the residual ultraviolet rays and ozone dissipate faster, and the waiting time can be appropriately shortened.
3. Ventilation conditions: A well-ventilated room can accelerate air flow, take away residual ultraviolet rays and ozone, and shorten the waiting time.

Suggested actions
1. Ventilation after disinfection: After disinfection, open windows and doors, turn on fans and other auxiliary ventilation equipment to accelerate air circulation and discharge ozone and other substances as soon as possible.
2. Follow the instructions: According to the instructions of the purchased ultraviolet lamp, set the disinfection time reasonably (generally 30 minutes to 1 hour), and strictly follow the recommended waiting time before entering the room.
3. Pay attention to safety: no one should be in the room during the disinfection period, and avoid direct contact with skin and eyes. If there is still a pungent smell when entering the room after disinfection, the waiting time can be appropriately extended.
